AI Transparency

If you are interviewing through HireWRX, you are entitled to know what the software does. This page explains it plainly.

The one thing that matters most

HireWRX cannot reject you. No score, no interview result and no automated process can end your application. Only a person at the employer can decide to decline a candidate, and they must record a reason when they do. This is built into the software — there is no setting that turns it on, and no path around it.

What the AI actually does

  • Reads your resume and summarises it against the role the employer described.
  • Produces an advisory score, with the reasoning shown to the hiring team.
  • Conducts a structured first interview in your browser, asking follow-up questions based on your answers. You can type your answers or speak them — your choice, and you can switch at any point.
  • If you speak, your recording is sent for transcription and then discarded. It is never saved to disk, never stored in our database, and no one at the company ever hears it — they read the transcript.
  • Writes a report of that interview, scoring the competencies the employer defined and citing evidence from what you said.

Everything it produces is given to a person, who reviews it and decides. The report is written to be argued with — every score must cite what you actually said, so a hiring manager can see whether they agree.

What it assesses

Only the competencies the employer defined for the role — the skills, experience and job-related requirements in their interview plan. Reports cover: relevant experience, demonstrated skills, answers to role-specific questions, and gaps a second interview should explore.

What it is instructed never to consider

  • Age, race, ethnicity, national origin or immigration status
  • Religion, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation
  • Disability, health or medical history
  • Family or marital status, pregnancy, or caring responsibilities
  • Accent, or grammar beyond what the role genuinely requires
  • Which school you attended

These exclusions are written into the instructions the model receives for every scoring and reporting task, not applied afterwards.

What we do not use

HireWRX interviews are text-based. We do not use facial recognition, facial or emotional analysis, voice or tone analysis, video scoring, keystroke analysis, or personality inference. We do not record video or audio of you.

Your profile, and answers you have already given

If you apply through HireWRX you can keep a profile of your own — your trade, your tickets and licences, what you can do, and when you can start. It is yours. You sign into it, you edit it, and you can take anything off it.

If you tick the box that says so when you apply, answers you have already given can fill in screening questions the next time you apply somewhere else through HireWRX. The box is optional and unticked by default, and your application is considered either way. When it saves you a question, the employer is told the question was skipped and what answer stood in for it, and so are you — before you apply.

Nothing on your profile is verified. When you type that you hold an EPA 608, the profile records that you said so, and that is what an employer sees. Uploading a photograph of the card moves it to “you showed us a document and confirmed what it says” — which is still not the same as anyone ringing the issuing board. No part of this product claims a credential was checked when it was not.

What crosses between employers is your answers, and only those. Never your application, never your resume, and never anything an employer wrote about you — not a score, not an interview, not a note, not the fact that you applied there at all. One employer cannot learn that another interviewed you, or declined you.

Employers finding you

There is a switch on your profile marked “let employers find me”. It is off unless you turn it on. While it is off, only employers you actually apply to can see anything about you.

Turn it on and employers can find your profile when they search — by trade, by ticket, by skill, by how long you have been doing the work, and by where you are. They cannot search by name, deliberately: the feature exists so an employer can find somebody who can do the job, not so a boss can find out whether their own technician is looking.

You can turn it off again at any time and it stops immediately. You can also keep it on and exclude one named employer. Turning it off does not unsend an application you already made — that employer already has it.

How matching works — and where the AI is not

Deciding whether an answer you already gave covers a question an employer is asking is done by ordinary rules, not by a model: it compares what the job requires against what you have said, checks how long ago you said it, and asks the question again if it is stale, has expired, or is specific to that employer. There is no scoring, no ranking of candidates against each other, and no model judgement in it.

Employer search works the same way — filters over what you chose to publish. Nobody is ranked, and no list is ordered by any assessment of you.

Reading your resume and conducting your interview do use a model, as described above, and only a person can act on what it produces.

Punctuality

Your interview link opens ten minutes before your scheduled time. If you begin late, the report notes how late. It is shown as one signal among many for a person to weigh — it is not a score, and it cannot end your application.

Your rights

  • To know. This page, and the notice on your interview page before you begin.
  • To an alternative. You may ask the employer for a different interview format. Ask them, or email us and we will pass it on.
  • To human review. A person reviews every report before any decision. You may also ask the employer to reconsider.
  • To your data. Request a copy of your interview transcript and report, or ask for your information to be deleted, at support@hirewrx.com.

For employers

Some jurisdictions regulate automated employment decision tools — New York City Local Law 144 requires an annual independent bias audit and candidate notice at least ten business days in advance; Illinois and Maryland have their own requirements. Those obligations sit with you as the employer.

HireWRX retains the records you need to meet them: every score with its reasoning, every interview transcript, and every disposition with the person who made it and the reason they gave. Contact us at support@hirewrx.com for an export in support of an audit.
